For instance, the supposed new Field Spell was simply the Japanese text for Kozmotown, while another matched the name of Kozmo Goodwitch. Furthermore, the inclusion of copyright warnings typically reserved for official web platforms, rather than print publications, proved the leaks were entirely fabricated.

Despite the swift debunking, the "Great Kozmo Scare" successfully disrupted the market as players and vendors scrambled to secure copies of older cards.
