Master Duel Finally Retires Its Ancient 2022 Structure Decks

It is about time Konami finally put some ancient Master Duel relics out to pasture. Starting August 5th, the classic 2022 Structure Decks, Re-Contract Universe and Cybernetic Successor, are getting pulled from the shop. If you have been recommending these dusty piles to unsuspecting rookie duelists, you can finally stop. In their place, we are getting overhauled, modern successors named Cyber Kaiser and Zero to the Future.
Let us look at what we are actually getting here. Structure Deck: Cyber Kaiser is a major glow-up for Cyber Dragon fans, packing must-haves like Cyber End Dragon, Cyber Dragon Sieger, Cyber Emergency, and Clockwork Night. It even includes Chimeratech Rampage Dragon and Cyberdark Chimera to make those explosive Fusion Summons actually consistent. Meanwhile, Structure Deck: Zero to the Future shifts the focus to a modernized Utopic strategy, giving players access to Number F0: Utopic Future, Dodododo Warrior, and Zexal Construction. It is a massive step up from the starter-level piles we had to deal with back in the game's infancy.
This update also secretly breathed life into some long-ignored Secret Packs. The Pledge of Sword pack now features beefed-up X-Saber support like X-Saber Gottoms, while Natural Selection got a massive influx of top-tier utility including Kurikara Divinecarnate and Varudras, the Final Bringer of the End Times. Between these updated packs and the upcoming Structure Decks, Konami is finally acknowledging that Master Duel's entry barrier has been way too high for too long. If you have been sitting on some gems, hold onto them until August 5th.
