Petar Peškirović Wins Genesys YCS Paris with Sacred Beasts

While the Advanced event in France drew massive attention, the parallel Genesys Main Event at YCS Paris 2026 proved just how warped alternate point pools can get when competent deckbuilders push an engine to its breaking point. Serbian duelist Petar Peškirović conquered the 256-player field after 11 Swiss rounds and a Top 8 cut, taking down Bilal Benali 2-1 in a grueling Sacred Beasts mirror match to take the trophy.
The winning build capitalized on a compact Archfiend tech engine headlined by Skull Archfiend of Chaos, generating recursive field presence and bridging raw attack pressure without bursting through the format's strict point cap. Sacred Beasts dominated the upper tables from the middle rounds onward. The Top 8 cut featured three Sacred Beasts lists, three Blitzclique pilots including semifinalist Fabio Pieraccioli, a lone White Forest build, and a Light and Darkness Ritual variant that mashed Tachyon and Shining Sarcophagus pieces together.
Peškirović went 11-2 across the Swiss stage before storming Top Cut, showing that even with restrictive format points designed to check runaway combos, brute force engine synergy and high-impact boss monsters still rule the room. With Sacred Beasts locking down both spots in the final match, the upcoming point adjustments will have to answer for this engine's sudden dominance.
