Enzo Fiallos Wins YCS Houston Genesys on Blitzclique

While much of the venue fixated on the Advanced format banlist theatrics in Texas, 273 duelists in the Genesys Main Event at YCS Houston had real business to settle. Across twelve grueling Swiss rounds and a stacked single-elimination top cut, Elizabeth, New Jersey's Enzo Fiallos piloted pure Blitzclique through the field to hoist the trophy and claim the alternate-art Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning prize card. Fiallos capped off his tournament run by defeating South American champion Juan Sebastian Andrade Castro in the finals, denying Andrade's heavily favored Angelechy list the weekend sweep.
Sunday's playoff bracket was packed with championship veterans. Canadian top seed Ittipat Arunnaveesiri exited in the opening elimination round after finishing first in Swiss on Magistus Fairy Tail, while Andrade eliminated Jesse Kotton in a tense mirror archetype clash during the quarterfinals. In the final match, Fiallos leaned into Blitzclique's relentless spot removal and high board-breaking ceiling to dismantle Andrade's defensive backrow setups, bypassing the interruption choke points that grounded other combo strategies across the weekend.
Brian Dong and Matthew Vanden Heuvel rounded out the top four on Angelechy and an Angelechy Blitzclique variant, underscoring how thoroughly those two strategies dictated Houston's upper bracket. Choosing a dedicated Blitzclique core over a diluted hybrid gave Fiallos the engine consistency needed to grind through the mirror and survive protracted resource wars, sealing an emphatic victory at one of the season's biggest premier stops.
