Konami Kills OTS Packs, Reveals Ultimate Tournament Pack 1
If you have been grinding your locals for years, you know the routine: pay your entry, get a mediocre tournament pack, and pull a common you'll leave on the table. Konami is finally pulling the plug on that cycle. In a massive shake-up to organized play, the long-running series of OTS Tournament Packs is dead. Replacing them is the Ultimate Tournament Pack 1 (UP01), and the full contents list revealed on June 15 has the community talking. With 50 cards in total (comprising 6 Ultimate Rares, 14 Super Rares, and 30 Commons), it's the largest tournament participation pack ever released, and the upgrade in value is undeniable.
The crown jewels here are the six Ultimate Rares. Getting a max-rarity printing of a meta staple like Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring is enough to get players through the door, but Konami also threw in classics like Dark Magician of Chaos and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, alongside modern powerhouses like Pot of Extravagance and The Fallen & The Virtuous. Even cards like Medius the Pure are getting the foil upgrade. For collectors and high-end duelists, this is a massive win, especially since Konami has integrated the Lost Art promotion directly into these packs as Super Rares.
Super Rares are also getting alternate art treatments for fan favorites like Thunder King Rai-Oh, Artemis, the Magistus Moon Maiden, Phantom Knights' Fog Blade, and Pre-Preparation of Rites. If you're a rogue deck specialist, there are even engine pieces like Lunalight Silver Hound and Dawn Angel Kambi getting foil reprints. To make sure casual players aren't left behind while keeping veterans happy, Konami doubled the common card pool to 30. And if you play to win, the companion Winner's Pack 2026-2027 will reward top-cut finishes at local, championship, and regional levels with exclusive stamped foils. Local tournament prize pools have been stagnant, but this revamp makes driving out to your OTS store on a Thursday night a lot more attractive.
