Power Patron Artmage Shocks the Meta at YCS Columbus 2026

5/31/2026Tournament, DeckProfile

The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG world is still buzzing after the massive YCS Columbus event, and while many players expected a predictable Top Cut, rogue strategies completely shattered those expectations! On May 24, 2026, duelist Jorje Kosho stunned the community by securing a phenomenal Top 8 finish using an incredibly innovative Power Patron Artmage deck. Proving that careful deck-building can dismantle even the toughest matchups, Kosho’s build utilized the latest tools from the newly released Chaos Origins core booster to cut through the competition.

At the heart of the deck is the powerful Level 1 Illusion monster Artmage Power Patron, originally introduced in Duelist's Advance. This single card acts as a massive engine, allowing players to Fusion Summon an Artmage Fusion Monster or Nerva the Power Patron of Creation directly during the Main Phase without needing a traditional Fusion Spell! By bypassing conventional summoning mechanics, the Artmage engine creates highly resilient boards that many top-tier decks were completely unprepared to face.

Kosho wasn't the only one finding success with rogue picks, as YCS Columbus saw an incredible variety of underdog strategies shining brightly. Ray Dai secured an impressive Top 4 finish with classic Sky Striker control tools like Sky Striker Ace - Raye and Sky Striker Ace - Roze, while other competitors effectively wielded the heavily-supported Radiant Typhoon archetype from Burst Protocol. As we march toward the summer championship season, duelists will undoubtedly be scrambling to adapt these brilliant rogue innovations into their own competitive lineups!
